Congratulations to Alonda Miller of Richmond Hill, Georgia, a senior Mathematics major.
"Coming here, my eyes were opened to a new way to teaching. I was able to see black men & women in positions of power on campus, not just as janitors and lunch ladies. I got to be taught things like the history of my university as well as history I was already used to learning about, just not so one sided. This atmosphere began to make me want to be more than a student! I wanted to be a part of the wildcat family and be recognized all over as a student of Fort Valley State University. The knowledge I have gained here as a student of mathematics will go further than imagined."
—Alonda Miller in her own words.
